So, since all the old pics are gone, I present to you a recap of our year so far as a braced couple. :)

I hope everyone is doing well!

Oh, I just think the two of you are too cute for words. Your FIs bottom teeth are looking really good! You, too, Ellabelle.
I'm off to see my orthodontist tomorrow. They're going to be switching out the brackets on my two top incisors. I'm a bit apprehensive about how that's going to go. Hope it doesn't hurt too much when they pry them off!

I got elastics today!!!

I'm so excited that we've started to work on my bite :) So it's 24/7 wear, they can only come out for brushing and to switch the elastics for new ones after eating. I've only had them on for 4 hours, and I feel like I was punched in the face!!! But I love that I have them! I was not expecting to get them so that was an awesome surprise at my progress check this am.

Next month I'm scheduled to be fitted for my Liberty Bielle! Ahhh, so nervous and excited!!!

Oh and I have a checkup at the dentist this afternoon too. At my last appt 6 months ago I only had upper braces, so it's cool I've come so far since then!

Thank you! Yeah I'm really happy with the teal/purple combo!

FI had his appt a few hours after me, so I'll take pics when I get home tonight. He went with Halloween colors. :) I like colored ligs on braces, and I'm glad he does too. You've gotta have a little fun with it!

Edit: Picture. You can see the colors better here.

Hi Ellabelle,
Your colours look very nice! Pretty!
I just got home from my appointment with my orthodontist. He's still very pleased with my progress and so am I. They removed the two brackets on my top incisors and put new ones on in a slightly different position. This is, I gather, to upright my two front teeth which have been sort of angled inward as the space has been closing. No word on elastics yet (which is just fine with me!).
Your teeth are looking just amazing! Keep going, girl!!

Hi. Congrats on your elastics. I wore that configuration for about 25 months of my treatment. I was lucky and only had them at night though. I will say that once I got used to them, I found them to be kind of comforting. It was also by far the easiest configuration I had to put on.

Hope you adapt quickly.

Hi Ellabelle,
Thanks for your posting. I was kind of hoping he would say, "Gee, things are going SO well, you'll probably be out of those braces in the next six months!" but no such luck. I go back in 5 weeks and I'm hoping there will have been even more progress by then. Take care of yourself.

Thanks Jill! Congrats to YOU on recently finishing treatment!

Dee, I'm sorry he didn't tell you the end is in sight yet. Yes hopefully by next time there'll be even further progress. If it makes you feel any better FI just got a finishing wire, and I'm not even at the halfway point. He's blessed with a perfect bite, ortho's words. But everyone has their own timeline on this journey. The most important thing is that we're on it!!

So day 2; I'm really loving my elastics. I was excited to get out of bed this morning so I could brush and change them! I'm a dork, I know, I just love it though. I'm SO feeling them work, lots of pressure, moderate pain, can't really chew, and I just honesty LOVE it all. I feel them working! Jill I also find them comforting. This is just another step of progress in realizing my dream of, oh, a decade and a half or so.

I'm really just so, so grateful, and just so happy to be where I am.

Always such a pleasure to read your postings, Ellabelle. Makes me feel so guilty for all the grumbling that I do about mine. But, I never wanted to sign up for this. Still I am grateful that there is a solution to my problem. Glad to know you're not having any problems with your elastics.
In just 24 hours, I can already see a difference in my upper teeth. The gap seems to be reappearing but that's because they told me they were repositioning things to bring my upper teeth closer together. It is not hurting and that's really what I care about. I am SO not into pain especially when it comes to my teeth!
