I am looking forward to seeing your progress since we are both in the same boat (open bite). Maybe you can post a picture of your teeth? It is always so great to see before pictures and then all the progress!!

Hey! My teeth have shifter a bit too!!! Ah man!!! Good luck!!! I know everything will work out fine! The wax comes through when the inside of your mouth is feeling sensitiveShaushy wrote:I'm 36 and on day two of braces. Right now I'm in awe of how quickly my teeth have shifted. Yesterday all of my teeth were able to touch and today, only two teeth touch when I bite down. It sure makes eating difficult.
I haven't used wax yet, but I I'm going to give it a try. I 'm a teacher so I talk all day, which makes everything worse.

I'm 25, and will be getting my braces December or January. I have to wait until I can get some dental work that needs to be done first. I can't wait!
I'll be feeling traditional metal!

Re: Official 25 and Up Braces Room
33 yrs old here. 13 months of treatment with 5 more months to go. Getting braces was the best decision I've made in the longest time. I can't wait to get these braces off in April 2014.

Re: Official 25 and Up Braces Room
Hi there, I'm 27 male from Bulgaria and I'm with metal braces for 5th day today! :)
I'm fixing a cross-bite, and I have my upper braces attached as well as two "balls" (I think they're called turbos) of glue on my bottom 6th teeth. These keep my bite a bit open, so my front upper teeth should be able to get out of the cross-bite faster.
So far so good - my mouth does fine (I was worried that my cheeks will be torn apart by the metal in my mouth), the pain and discomfort are went away relatively fast and I'm getting used to my new oral hygiene routine.
Alas, I have trouble eating anything that's not very soft... Since I've managed to pop 2 of my braces somehow on my very first day (I tried to eat diced pork steak) I got very paranoid about brackets coming off. I suppose it has to do with the balls of glue since I don't have much area to chew on effectively and my molars are not that big, and the brackets are positioned very close to the bottom edge of the teeth?
Anyway - I'm using all kinds of GUM products and also got an Oral B water flosser.
I'm very happy to be part of this community! :)

Hello all!!! I am 32 and will be getting my braces put on this coming Tuesday. I am getting Damon brackets, but choosing to go the all metal route. I am so glad I found this forum... I am sure I will have a lot of questions along the way...

Re: Official 25 and Up Braces Room
Hello everyone. I'm new to the board. I am 29 and a month ago i got metal braces. Yes, I'm a late bloomer and i don't have an issue with it lol.
I have a 6mm diastema that I want closed. It's hereditary and at one time I embraced it (no pun intended lol) but now I want it closed.
I have no shame in the metal braces. Others are getting invisalign strictly for aesthetic reasons. If I can walk around with a 6 mm gap what's some metal and colored rubberbands gonna hurt! :)

Re: Official 25 and Up Braces Room
Hi all!
I'm getting bottom braces + expander next Tuesday. Top braces sometime later and jaw surgery after that I'm 26 and really nervous about how young I will look with braces. I'm fairly petite and don't wear a lot of makeup, so I tend to look like I'm in my late teens most of the time. Has anyone had trouble with being thought of as much younger?

Hi all,
I am new here, 29 at the moment and turning 30 next April. I've had my braces for 12 months now and I must say I am very pleased with the progress. Time has just flew by, now I am just looking forward to the last 6 months of treatment. I am currently in powerchains and elastics in front to fix my overbite.
