Newbie-braces at 40

#1 Post by PNWMomof3 »

Hi everyone! I've always hated my teeth(to much spacing) and was finally able to get braces(at age 40). My 12 yr old and I are both in full metal braces. It's been fun to see how much our teeth have changed in just a few months time. My estimated treatment time is 18-20 months. Got my braces on about 2 months ago. I look forward to sharing this "metal mouth" journey with some other adults! :)

Welcome!
I too have had my braces for about 2 months. My 15 yo dd has had hers for about 11 months and her teeth look great! I can't wait to start seeing that kind of movement in my teeth. :) We both have full metal ones too.
I am 43 and I think that age has nothing to do with being conscious of wanting a better smile and dental health. Enjoy your journey, and this forum is a great place for questions and answers. :-*

Good luck with your treatment. I got my braces at 40. I got them off a couple weeks ago... 2 days before my 43rd birthday. :D

It was totally worth it.
