Occlusion trauma?

#1 Post by tiana »

Hi all.
I have braces on my upper arch in order to pull backward a canine. Two weeks ago, that canine started hurting really really bad. It was not the usual ache, but it was more similar to pulpit pain.
Unfortunatly, the ortho had a three days off so i had to wait 4 days before starting doing something.
From X-ray they saw that the root of the canine had something wrong and so they removed all the ligatures on it, and gave me antibiotic and pain killers but, honestly, they had no idea of what went wrong.

They suspect an occlusion problem which could have caused a trauma to the canine root. If I do not recover fully, I might need root canal therapy.

Now the pain is quite almost passed but I am really scared. Has someone ever experienced something similar? Did you recover?
Thank you.

The pain to my tooth recovered, But due to the loss of ligatures the canine has moved back to a wrong position.
I have lost a month of treatements.
Now I am wondering if the pain will start again as soon as the ligature are back in place.
