My Impressions, Xray, 3Dscan were all done during my first consultation! My ortho didnt speak much about my treatment though, just told me to get extractions and done and come back to hook braces up. Probably 45mins max?

My impressions were taken a few weeks before my treatment plan appointment. I also got to see a "prototype" kind of model of what my teeth were going to look like on the day they put my brackets on.

It was very exciting!
Stay positive!

Impressions at first appointment, but I have lingual braces and they custom-make the brackets to fit your teeth (and apply them using the retainer tray thingies) and custom-bend the wires, so it's absolutely vital to have impressions.

I had them up front when I had conventional braces as a teenager too.
I don't understand how they can plan your first wire without taking impressions and making a model?

I'm not sure either. I'm sure they can't with brackets on so idk. I'm certainly going to ask.

I got full impressions, that 3D xray thing, before photos, a bag of SPAM, all sort of stuff the day of initial consultation, and after they presented me with the payment options and I agreed, they rushed me back to put in the initial spacers in the back, all on the very first visit. Even made me up a little booklet with all that stuff in it. It was pretty cool actually.

I'm actually going in tomorrow to get impressions. My ortho said that even with the pano (3D) X-ray, impressions are vital because they can use the impressions in order to know exactly what is needed, as they will be able to look at your teeth exactly as they appear in your mouth.
Sentence:
28 months in full upper and lower braces, open coil spring for additional alignment space for permanent teeth to erupt, elastics to align back bite, bite turbos, and palate expander.

Yeah, I got impressions done a week before my braces went on. No dramas.
