Thanks Sheryl, it's only when you compare the early photos that you really notice the small subtle changes that have taken place. I guess the next indication of progress will the bottom teeth levelling out and the overbite starting to reduce once I start with the elastics. How are you getting on?

It seems like ages since my last update. Still browsing the posts most days but have very little to add other than one of my molars has miraculously straightened up and for the first time in years can actually feel proper grinding between the teeth surfaces when eating. I have an adjustment tomorrow which I'm looking forward to, no idea what's planned so will update you tomorrow.

And that's the 4th adjustment out of the way. Both archwires were replaced, the top one with a steel rectangular wire, the bottom with a stronger Ni-Ti wire. I'm getting elastics at the next appointment in May so something to look forward to. It was a really nice relaxed appointment with plenty of time to chat to my orthodontist about progress and what he has planned over the next six months. No pain yet although everything feels pretty tight so expecting some soreness tomorrow. I can't believe it's been over nine months already, that makes it about half way there and if the next nine months flys by as fast as the previous, I'll be finished in no time.

Well I can certainly feel the difference with these wires! Eating a banana was pretty sore this morning and my choice of a bagel for lunch was quite a challenge! Several teeth which have never complained before have made their presence known and my bite feels really strange even though I'm sure nothing could have moved in such a short time? I really feel like I'm embracing this orthodontic experience now and for those of you who have been following my progress will know I've got off very lightly previously. Think I will stick to soft food tonight.

It's been good to read your updates :) My bite changed pretty quickly a few times, sometimes even as early as the afternoon of a morning wire change. Hope the pain has eased up!

Hi Tobilei, how are you? Haven't heard from you in a long time. Yes, the pain went away in a day and all I get is the occasional ache but in a nice sort of way. It looks like I'm going to have my braces for a bit longer than first thought as everything is taking a while and my bite isn't sorting itself out as planned. Not that I'm at all worried as I'm still really enjoying this whole experience.

It's nice to see you're still enjoying the experience. I wish even the tiniest part of me had found it enjoyable :P I think my ortho will be glad to be rid of me! Bit of a bummer when they're on longer than they were meant to, mine were due off in January and I'm still in them. I do have a debrace date for my next appointment though on April 2nd

I'm definitely at that 'nothing much is happening' stage. Despite repeatably staring at my teeth, willing them to move, nothing appears to have happened in the last five weeks. I'm sure some subtle changes are going on but I can't detect them which is mighty frustrating. I keep thinking "well if he uses an expander to widen this bit and a spring to push this bit and an elastic to pull this bit, we might start seeing some progress"! Guess I'm turning into an armchair orthodontist.

Just read your story and you had great progress in very short time I think by your pictures. I am new here and have only had mine in 6 weeks but I can't see any change yet! Gonna start shoving them with my tongue! Continued good luck.

Hi, thank you. I noticed lots of changes in the first few months then things appeared to slow down but in reality plenty was changing, it was just less noticeable. I've certainly enjoyed the whole process and have found it a really positive experience in so many ways so hope you do too. Good luck.
