Anyone wake up from sharp pain during sleep? After surgery

#1 Post by Hostet25 »

So it's happened about 5 times now...I'm 7 days post op. It seems to be mostly as I am almost asleep but not quiet there yet. Although It did happen at 4am last night and woke me straight up out of bed. I get this horrible sharp stabbing pain in my upper jaw area close to the joint. And this time I definitely heard some crackles or something. I'm not sure if it's muscle spasms or if I'm opening my mouth randomly during sleep (even though I'm banded shut I can open a tad bit) or if my clinching or grinding my teeth. The pain is so bad i wake right up from sleeping to sitting straight up and crying!!!! It goes away after a few minutes but damn I need this to stop! It's no fun! And only happens when I'm asleep! Can anyone relate or know what it might be?
