chains?

#1 Post by gracieg2002 »

So, today I had a tightening and I got the chain thing (if you don't know what it is, it's like an o-ring except it's connected to other o-rings with o-ring material...Is it normal to be nervous about them?
I have them on my 4 front teeth and all my bottom teeth. I had one last time, but it was only my 2 front teeth. They moved REALLY FAST!!!! If my bottom teeth (which really aren't too bad, just a bit spacey) are going to move as fast as my 2 front teeth, I think it's going to be PAINFUL because last time, it was the front teeth that were the really, super sore ones... :Questions:

I have full powerchains across both arches. It can be tight/uncomfortable at first, but you'll get used to it, just like everything else. Don't be afraid of them :)
Had Damons (ceramic upper, metal lower) from June 27, 2013 - January 20, 2015
15-18 month sentence, official time in braces was 18 months, 3 weeks, 3 days

I have them on the full right side, bottom right now. It was very uncomfortable the first week or so. But they seem to get quick results, which I'm super happy about.

How are you feeling a couple days after?

I have chains and the thing I really hate about them, is how quickly they get stained!! I drink a lot of coffee and they become bright yellow... It is really annoying, especially since I paid extra to get ceramic braces. My wires are white but the chains around them are bright yellow, which makes my teeth look yellowish too....

I have powerchains on my lingual braces and, weirdly, I like them! Well, at least they make all the metalwork a little bit less scratchy...

I had them on for 6 weeks or so, off for an appointment or two, and now back on again.
I think it's some kind of cosmic balancing act between powerchains and elastics but I just do what I'm told!
