Just got brackets on today...wire next week

Hey Everyone!

I just got my brackets on top today (clarity) and will be getting my bottoms on soon. Getting 2 baby teeth pulled wednesday (ouch) and then monday is the day my wire goes on! I'm nervous, but excited for my new smile!


I'll be 23 at the end of October and work with the public, so I'm nervous what people will think and say!

Congrats! 99.9% of the people won't say anything. The other .1% will be other adults in braces.

Haha I'm just so nervous and I don't know why! I feel so self-concious about them, and I guess I care too much what people think of me. For some reason I feel like people would judge me more for having braces (with a child I might add) than they would with me having messed up teeth! I have had so much support from family and my fiance, yet it still makes me nervous that someone will think it's stupid that I have braces. I think I just worry too much haha. But thank you! I'm hoping having the wire put on doesn't cause too much difficulty for me, and having braces flys by!

I'll be 23 at the beginning of November & have had my braces for 3 months... Nobody will even say anything! Most of the time they don't even notice! But I'm hoping my time flies by too!

I didn't really tell anyone about getting them even though I'm excited to be able to actually smile and laugh - soon enough!!

I'm hopefully getting braced soon, I'm 21 and at uni and a bit apprehensive of what people will say. However I have seen two adults with braces in the last two days...

Yea for the most part everyone has been positive when they first saw I had them(I'm 26 and I work and go to school) Theres actually a lot of people gave me positive feedback and support because they went through it too.

Apparently, there are lots of us adults with hardware these days! I'm 54 and recall quite few people I know close in age that were wearing braces at some point. I find it amusing that I now focus on other peoples teeth so much more these days, especially when I'm watching television.

Thanks everyone ! It's been almost three weeks with my braces on and barely anyone has notices! Or, at least they haven't said anything haha. I am definitely focusing on the results, and I'm not even the slightest bit worried about having braces anymore. If anything, I am MORE confident now knowing that my smile is being fixed!

Great to hear you journey has been good so far hope it continues. Have you noticed an changes yet as I am constantly gawking at mirror expecting to see a chane even though it has just been a couple of days

Ridingboots, I actually have! I have noticed that my top front four teeth are almost completely straight! They weren't HORRIBLE before, but that is where I have noticed the most movement. I have high caniness so the wire isn't connected to them yet, but I am excited to get those pulled down hopefully soon!

I hope you notice change soon as well!
