Inman aligners

Re: Inman aligners
Hi Helenv, I agree, stick with what you had planned. To begin with you will be wary taking it in and out and you almost feel a tooth might break! But please believe me, you get used to it reàlly quickly! Plus your teeth will move very quickly to begin with. After a week or so, you will be an old hand àt it! Your speech will also improve very quickly as you adjust! Plus going to Thailand, people will struggle understanding what you're saying so the brace will be immaterial lol!
Good luck, you will soon see a difference and it will quickly become a way of life.
Have a great holiday!

LadyF they look fabulous, glad I logged in now, just to see your teeth and keep me motivated.
I am still on the expander, so no inman yet, but I am being patient, and hoping all the groundwork is being done !

Hi oharecr! Thank you so much, although I'm feeling a bit frustrated as I'm back on Tuesday for what I thought would be the retainer fitting but this stubborn front tooth just isn't for playing the game so they are still not quite 100%..... But I will keep persevering!
I never had an expander so I don't know about that at all, but when you do get your IA fitted you will see such a big difference really quickly!
Best of luck on your journey!x

Re: Inman aligners
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to ensure aligner is kept clean and best thing to use if I get sores in my mouth? I'm going abroad on holiday only a few days after getting it and need to be prepared in advance!
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Inman aligners
Hi helenv
I used normal sterident tablets discolved in luke warm water, pop your aligner in this solution for a couple of minutes and rinse well in cold water - job done! With regard to sores, any mouth ulcer gel is fine, it was my left inside cheek that was sore but this only lasted a few days, you will get used to the soreness and it was more of an uncomfortable feeling rather than painfully sore. Good luck with your treatment and enjoy your holiday!!

Re: Inman aligners
Getting my aligner fitted on Friday coming.
What are peoples thoughts on best pain relieve to use, if needed for first few days and gels or something to use to help prevent rubbing and sores?
Cheers.

Re: Inman aligners
Starting to get a bit nervous - will have my aligner in a weeks time. Can anyone tell me just how painful the 1st few days are likely to be? read about people not being able to eat which is causing me some concern and watched a youtube video of someone who said the pain was pretty awful when putting it back in after sleeping in it. Scary times ahead!
Re: Inman aligners
Hi guys - I can honestly say I felt no pain whatsoever... If anything it was a little uncomfortable the first few days but that was more to do with getting used to the tightness on my teeth. Some mornings my teeth felt a little tender when brushing them but that was quite a good feeling as it meant my teeth were moving and progress was being made.
I bought Bongela to soothe my gums but it remains unopened! I didn't need to take painkillers either. I suppose everyone is different though but I can't imagine anyone finding it intolerable.
I'm sure you will be fine but any concerns in the first week or so, speak to your dentist.
Good luck!!

Re: Inman aligners
Fingers crossed, it was third time lucky today. Been back to the dentist and had my third set of impressions taken. Will find out on Wednesday if I finally have the go ahead to continue. If so I will have my inman before Christmas xx
Re: Inman aligners
Dave84 how did your fitting go on Friday? Is everything ok? X
Re: Inman aligners
Thanks LadyF, I bought some Bonjella just in case but haven't used it nor painkillers either, fingers crossed it stays like that.
Hi Oharecr, everything went fine. It fitted perfectly and got I some IPR done which was fine. It is a little uncomfortable but nothing to bad, teeth are a bit tender already but that's good I think. There's nothing to worry about, hope ya get sorted before Christmas.

Re: Inman aligners
How are you getting on speaking Dave? And are you able to sleep ok? Getting mine tomorrow after a slight delay as wasn't sent from lab for Monday. Excited but nervous at the same time - off on holiday on Thursday too!
Re: Inman aligners
Hi Helenv, speaking is just ok tbh, have a lisp but it is getting better with practice and speaking slower. I can sleep fine with it doesn't bother me at all, just be prepared for a lot of saliva and slirping when its put in but dentist told me it will stop after 2 weeks or so but I have already noticed I'm not salivating as much now already.
Enjoy ur holidays!!!
