Hi,
I'm getting my braces off in 2 weeks thanks to Acceledent. I'm an adult, never got braces as a kid, and did not want them as an adult. My teeth weren't bad, just some crowding, but I was told by 3 orthodontists that Invisalign wouldn't work, or if I got it, I would need to get braces after to fix what that didn't fix. Braces were painful at times, a hassle mostly, but Acceledent reduced the pain after each adjustment. It's only been 13 months - my orthodontist originally said 18+ months and the two orthodontists I saw before that quoted even longer. I definitely would recommend getting braces if you've been thinking about it. Just go see an orthodontist at least - most consultations are free. Get a second or third opinion. And if you can afford it, I highly recommend Acceledent. I thought it was a scam at first but now I'm a believer. I documented everything on my blog if you're interested in progress and are looking for more info about Acceledent - I know I couldn't find much when I was trying to decide. And if you do get Acceledent remember it only has a 1-yr warranty. Mine started malfunctioning recently but luckily Acceledent just replaced it. I wish I'd gotten a new one sooner, now I don't even need it.
But really - do it now if you're considering braces. I wish I'd done it sooner.
Here's a link to my blog - hope it helps someone make their decision: http://acceledentbraces.blogspot.com/
Braces off 5 months early - Acceledent

Re: Braces off 5 months early - Acceledent
Your teeth look FANTASTIC, so don't get me wrong, but the extra money and time spent every day using the device, definitely would not be worth it for me. Time goes so fast anyway, I wouldn't worry if my dentist told me tomorrow that I had another 5-6 months to go. Again, nothing personal! You look amazing and so glad it worked so well for you, but for me, I hardly see the point.

I agree with you. An extra $800 would amount to approximately 5 months of double my payments (I pay my ortho $172/mo). I'm not one of those people who are super self-conscious about having braces so getting braces off 5 months early is not much of an incentive to me at that price point.Lorianne wrote:Your teeth look FANTASTIC, so don't get me wrong, but the extra money and time spent every day using the device, definitely would not be worth it for me. I also agree that your teeth look great, cs19860! Congrats on getting your braces off in 2 weeks!
