Upper Palate expanding on one side?

Is it possible? I am fully aware that there is controversy in expanding the Upper Palate in adults (19 here) but I do believe its possible. Seen enough progress pics and supporting articles.

My left side of my upper mouth appears to somehow became more narrow then the other. Those teeth tilt in as well, while my right side is perfect. I believe it might have been from when I got a root canal at 14, and they didn't properly make my bite even. This caused me to somehow shift my jaw to the right and only use my right side for chewing.

Anyone had a similar experience and can give any insight? lol

I have the exact same issue! My right side is narrower it's obvious when at rest as my lip snarls up on the right and my smile is crooked on that side, plus I have narrow arches in general also.
Had a consultation last month and getting an Alf appliance fitted to widen arches and hopefully Even out my lips. Getting lower arch braces at the same time and upper arch after approx 8 moths...that's the plan anyway..My front teeth are pretty straight just have a very narrow mid face n jaw overall and was hoping treatment will widen my jaw and smile. Have been reading posts about people here though who are really upset about their results where their faces appear thinner and longer after treatments so I'm wondering if I'm making a big mistake or entering into this too lightly - I'm getting fitted next month.

Have you been decided on or started treatment? Would be really interested to hear what recommendation you got the same problem...

Never did anything about it. Still curious. Did your ortho mention anything about the fact that only one side needs it? Like literally, one side of my upper teeth is perfect while the other is noticeably more narrow.

I don't think your palatal issues are due to your root canal. For the purposes of bone/jaw growth/recession, it's all about something being in place in the gums and jaw, not whether it's alive or not. (For this reason, implants are used to prevent the recession caused by dentures and bridges.)

As far as treatment goes? This is totally a question for a board-certified orthodontist; the case sounds too complex for a general dentist to diagnose, and it's definitely impossible for us random folks on the internet to give any useful advice. If you are in the US, consults are usually free.

Hi acoustic, yes that exact issue is really obvious from the moulds he took and he is hoping to widen the upper jaw with Alf device and correct this but my upper arch needs expanding also on both sides as its so narrow. Starting treatment at the end of the month so will keep you posted. As sirwired said go for a consult you have nothing to lose, I'd be really interested to say what they recommend for you as you seem to have the same problem as me. I'm based in Dublin, Ireland by the way.
