I just got my braces several days ago. May 6, at 9:30 to be exact. I noticed that my left back molar, well second to the last with the brace on it is tilting inward. It definitely was straight before and not tilting. Is this normal in the treatment process? I'm scared my start with braces is off to a bad start and now it just prolonged the treatment.
Any replies are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Just got braces on and a molar is tilting inward

Re: Just got braces on and a molar is tilting inward
Sometimes things will look like they are getting worse before they get better. Just be patient. And always remember that you can ask your orthodontist and the office staff questions and make them aware of your concerns. They have the experience and professionalism to answer your questions without making you feel bad for asking.

I have the same thing going. My top left second molar appears to be way out of line and tilted outwards compared to its neighbors and looking back at my records photos, it wasn't that far out of line or tilted outwards. To me, this could mean one of two things: either that molar has moved and the others around it haven't or the other teeth have moved and that molar hasn't. I know for sure that all those molars feel a bit loose and they have been tender for the last few days so some movement is going on there. I think this is just another example of what EWUgal15 is talking about. We just have to be patient and it takes time. After all, that 18 to 24 month treatment time is meant to fix all these little things. Also, as far as I understand, aligning teeth is much more easier than fixing a bite and most part of the dedicated treatment time is spent on fixing one's bite so it shouldn't be that big of a problem if one tooth is a bit off a few days after getting braces.

You're 2 days into treatment. Take a breath. It will be ok. This hasn't prolonged treatment. If it was 2 days before you were scheduled to get your braces off; I'd be concerned that it would prolong treatment; but 2 days into it you all set...
I'm guessing your molar was always like that. It just might look different with the molar band on it; which itself might be higher or lower on one side giving the appearance of even more of a tilt. Molars take a bit more to move than other teeth.

Round 3 (lifetime) Damon stainless applied 3/16/20 (after 4 weeks attempting invisalign) On for about 18 months
Night time elastics with invisalign retainers; still...
Double jaw surgery was 6/18/15...
Orthodontics never really ends...
I'm emphatically against extraction orthodontics!
