Re: Just curious about everyone's treatment cost
$5850 19months. Damon Braces full metal. $1500 down payment. $234 monthly. All out of pocket
Re: Just curious about everyone's treatment cost
My total cost is 4400€, 100% out of pocket. I could have saved myself 250€ by opting for metal braces instead of ceramic, but vanity got the better of me, and since I already pretty much look like I'm 16, I wanted to avoid looking even younger as much as possible.
Rocking those ceramic, self-ligating braces since May 19, 2015.

About $5600 for 18-24 months. I have the traditional metal braces. My insurance pays $1500.

Re: Just curious about everyone's treatment cost
I seem to be toward the expensive end of the spectrum. Quoted $7450 for ceramic upper and lowers, $1500 down, $247 / month for 24 month in the Pacific Northwest. I went to three consultations and all orthos were within a few hundred dollars of each other, none under $7k.
Re: Just curious about everyone's treatment cost
I live in Australia and my metal braces will cost $7300 + around $2000 for oral surgery for my impacted canines.
Re: Just curious about everyone's treatment cost
I am in Australia and had 5 different consultations before deciding on an ortho I feel comfortable with.
The one I am going with is $7350 (AUD), estimated treatment time of 18-24 months.
That's for top and bottom self-ligating braces: at least 6 ceramic (Damon clear) brackets on top front teeth (ortho said I can have 6-10 on top if I like, and I *think* he said cost would be same regardless) and the rest metal (Empower).
Includes all appointments, wire snipping, emergency appointments, bracing and removal, moulds, retainers, and check ups for 2 years after removal of braces ('retention care').
If I went with ALL metal (self-ligating), it would have been $500 less.
This price is not including any surgery (which I'm not having, at least at this point) or extractions (which I am having.. :P). Xrays were not included either, but I didn't have to pay for them as I went to a bulk-billing place and they were fully covered under Medicare (Australian health system). Unfortunately though Medicare does not cover braces/extractions at all (as far as I know), and I don't have private health insurance, so it's all out of pocket for me.

Re: Just curious about everyone's treatment cost
Honestly, I'd have paid more if I were happy with the orthodontist. Although mine is a little, er, 'dry', he seems pretty good in terms of treatment. But equally I can see that paying a higher cost for someone you get on with and trust is a good thing. It's a pretty tough treatment.
Re: Just curious about everyone's treatment cost
Mine is costing roughly £2800 (I don't have the paper work near me and I'm too lazy too look haha but it's around that). I paid a £400 deposit and I'm paying £130 a month. I have traditional metal braces.
Re: Just curious about everyone's treatment cost
£2800 for ceramics on top only including all consultations and post brace cleaning and whitening.
Re: Just curious about everyone's treatment cost
That also includes reatainers and tooth shaping, I should add.

I had my braces for 21 months and was just de-braced yesterday. The treatment cost was about $1,400 here in Arizona. Top and bottom Hawley retainers were $300. All the best!
Hi robgs, that is a great price. Do you mind sharing the orthodontist you go to? I am in Arizona also, thanks.

Re: Just curious about everyone's treatment cost
$6,895 for the first round of braces including retainers and a year's worth of retention visits. Second time around, I'm being charged a retreatment cost of $3,880 for approximately 12-18 months, plus retainers and a year of retention visits.

I live in Houston and my out of pocket cost is just under $4k. This is for metal braces for 20 months, all appointments + 2 years of aftercare. Plus a free Oral B electric toothbrush!
