what food/snack on the 'no, no' list do you crave, but dont dare try eat?

#1 Post by 30yearoldbraceface »

I eat normally, dont stay away from too many things and eat a few too many things I shouldn't be eating with braces on - but there is one thing I am craving so so bad! Cadbury Lunchbar! I dont know if you get them all over the world, but it is a delicious chocolate bar crammed with caramel, wafer biscuit, peanuts and crisped rice (like in rice crispies) - I dont dare try eat it, as I just know it will break something :( I am so going to overdose on those things when these puppies come off my teeth! - just feeling sorry for myself, and slightly hungry now! Hehe

Corn on the cob is what I have been dreaming about. Maybe next year!

I live in America, but I am English, yesterday my husband went to the commissary and got me a flake from the English section because I am dying for some chocolate and thought that would be okay because it's all flaky and would melt in my mouth... He also got himself a crunchy.

I called him rude names upon his return... Now that delicious crunchy is sitting on the side just mocking me with it's chocolately crunciness... :x *sob*

You can suck the chocolate off at least! I mean, that *is* how one eats a Crunchie...

I miss popcorn, more than I can say. I know a lot of people eat it with braces, but I worry so much about things getting caught in molar bands and all of the horror stories I've heard from the ortho techs about trying to clean after a popcorn feast.

One of my coworkers is from Scotland. He gave me a Boost bar to eat...That was a terrible idea. I didn't break anything, but I was sucking caramel out of my brackets for hours after.

You still can, just break it into small little pieces and let it sit and melt in your mouth. I know the experience won't be the same as biting and chewing it but it'll still taste the same.

hehe metallika I have thought about it, but the caramel is hard toffee-like caramel, and the peanuts are whole peanuts - its just a plain bad idea hahaha! I'll just have to satisfy my sweet tooth with something else :) will just have to be thankful for small mercies such as icecream and other braces friendly goodies hehe :)

I can eat dunked hobnobs. It takes a little longer to get the dunk right and you have to rush before it crumbles into the tea, but if you can do it, it's a slice of heaven.

Believe me when I say I miss gnawing on bones. When I had regular teeth, I'd chew a chicken thigh bone to its marrow! I love cartilage and miss that too! Hey, I'm Asian and we don't let food go to waste! Hahaha I want me some chicken and pig feet now.

Come to think of it, maybe that's how I cracked the root of my one molar that had a root canal...it became infected and eventually got extracted. :-+

I REALLY want to eat several ears of corn on the cob. Not being able to is my biggest "braces torture"!!!
Braces installed on March 25, 2014: Damon clears on top and metal on bottom.
I had braces for 25 months!

I just went through 12 months with braces, and the only thing I didn't eat was popcorn and corn on the cob. That's it. I was just paranoid about the slivers of corn getting caught in my brackets (popcorn) and the mess that it makes (on the cob). But, chips, nuts, chocolate...no big deal. I ate them all. And nothing broke. I guess my ortho uses good cement.
