Thank you! I am happy with having a straight smile, I think I will feel better once my discoloration issues are improved :)

I remember the essix feeling so huge at first but like everything else you'll get use to it more and then the retainer will feel like it belongs. I'm a wee bit jealous you went straight to nightime wear right away! I have 2 months of full time wear left.

Any friends/family/contacts notice your braces are gone? How's the talking situation with the retainer in? I thought my lispyness went away but recently I recorded a video of me talking and it's way more noticeable than I thought. Oh well haha!!!

The essix doesn't seem so big, but it is annoying at best. I have a terrible lisp with it. The first evening I had it in my phone rang and I had to talk to someone that I don't know very well for like 30 minutes. The more I thought about lisping the worse it got. LOL. I'm still constantly bothered by the bonded retainer. :-*

As far as people noticing, I finally just told folks and put a selfie up on Facebook... LOL!

Hey TrustGodAuburn, I seem to recall that you had a lower incisor that stubbornly refused to derotate. I think I'm in the same boat -- since my last adjustment this tooth has even rotated the other way a little bit, not good! What did the ortho do that finally resolved the issue for you?

My ortho did a good deal of filing between my teeth to make extra space for that tooth to turn. Mine got better for a bit and then it got worse and took a few teeth with it too! But, after a LONG time, it finally start turning back the right direction. He always used wire ties on that tooth to make it a tight fit to my wire, and he seemed to always put bends in it in an odd fashion, to get that tooth moving.

I am not sure it is 100% how it should be at this point, but I am pretty happy with my result either way. Good luck with yours and have patience. I didn't think mine would ever improve. My upper arch and all of my lower arch except for that one tooth were corrected by the first year, and it took a whole extra year to get that one tooth lined up.

Thanks for replying. You've really encouraged me to ask the ortho to get more aggressive about this tooth, since he can't even start in on major mechanics (much less, bendable wires) until it's resolved. I don't want a whole extra year of braces!
