Wireless Waterpiks?!

So I am REALLY wanting to invest in a Waterpik as I've heard nothing but good things about them... HOWEVER I live in a teeny tiny flat and have no space in my bathroom or a power socket to use one. Does anyone have any recommendations of wireless & rechargable varieties? I've heard the wireless one is rubbish and not worth the money as the battery dies??? Does anyone have any recommendations?

I can't answer your question directly since I am unaware of a wireless or portable version, but you don't have to use it in the bathroom. How about the kitchen? Or really anywhere near a plug. You could use some sort of big bowl to catch the drippings and debris. Now if there is a spouse involved, I can see how this might not be ideal .

Ive got a wireless waterpik, i haven't had it die on me yet, i just have it recharge once or twice a week and it works perfectly

I must admit this is likely to be what I end up doing... I have very much considered the possibility of buying one to sit on the floor with and use with a basin (yes I want one that much ) I also considered the kitchen but didn't fancy the idea of old food particles flying around my lovely clean dishes...

+1 for the wireless, thank you! Once or twice a week sounds really good, I have to charge my electric toothbrush nearly every day to keep it working properly!

Sounds like you might need a new electric toothbrush! I had a Sonicare that used to do that. I finally replaced it (and now I have 2 new ones ) and I haven't had that problem again.

I was also curious about the rechargeable Waterpik....I thought it would be a good idea for work, but I get enough stares brushing my teeth... It's good to know they don't need to be charged daily. It looks like they have roughly the same charge schedule as my toothbrush.

I have both the wireless and the wired Waterpiks.

Wired is significantly better. It's more powerful, it's easier to fill with water, it's just better. I used my wireless one maybe twice before giving it away. It's not worth the money in my eyes.

I used a Pana Sonic one for travel. It ran on AA's, but rechargables are easily available. It has a much larger tank than the cordless waterpik.

The pana sonic one does have really good reviews on Amazon (better than the waterpik equivalent) and I was strongly considering that instead so I might just give it a go, thanks for the suggestion! I'll bring it up at my cleaning with the hygienist soon and get her opinion too!

Having never used the larger Waterpik, I can only comment on the rechargable. It is almost twelve months since I bought it and it has been faultless. We travel a lot in our caravan and overseas so I couldn't carry a large one around with me. I use the Waterpik about three times a day and floss now and again. Teeth are fine according to dentist.

why not try the one that hooks up directly to the faucet? then you can have a quick disconnect on there when not in use. no AC cord required

The OP isn't from the US (lives in a flat instead of an apartment, and the wireless one is rubbish instead of junk, not to mention that I think a US bathroom without an electric socket would never comply with building codes); don't know if the UK uses the same aerator threads as the US. (I know there are a lot of odd things about UK plumbing; my brother recently moved back to the US from the UK and one thing his wife was really looking forward to was plumbing, appliances, and electrical systems that actually worked sensibly.)

You could get a Phillips Air Flosser? I've read heaps of great reviews and they're a lot more portable! I have one at home and will start using it on Monday (as its my bday present)

Haha I very much enjoyed your terminology deciphering there! Yep I am in the UK so that product isn't available to me unfortunately. I have to admit the plumbing situation in my flat isn't typical for the average UK household though, so I'm not really sure if my lack of shaver socket in the bathroom is common or not.

Tried my air flosser today and it is love! My teeth feel sosososo clean afterwards and it's awesome!
