DC Area Jaw Surgery Buddies

Just checking the forum to see if there is anyone in DC area that is in the one of the various stages of the jaw surgery process (researching jaw surgery, in braces prior to surgery, or recently completed the surgery and treatment)?

Wow, you're inspiring to me just for being where you are in the process (it takes a lot of patience)! My projected surgery date is Spring 2017. I'll be getting bicuspid extractions next week, and then braces in 2 weeks. It seems like such a long road ahead.

I'm in the Northern VA area, but my ortho and surgeon are in Chevy Chase.

How long have you been in braces for? Are you getting upper, lower, or both jaws done?

Only started braces last summer, so my teeth weren't too bad (also using Invisalign vs. traditional braces). Both my jaws are being moved, the upper clockwise rotated and forward. You?

I'm looking forward to surgery so I can finally be done with this process! It is a long road but I imagine it's worth it.
