Are sore molars normal after braces/retention?

#1 Post by palmtrees »

My braces were removed recently and I only had to wear the plastic retainer for the top arch for 6 weeks. It's been over a week since I could finally bite down hard and put some pressure on the teeth again like pre-braces and i feel some soreness on my molars. Is this normal and will it go away after a while?

Right. Sometimes though it feels like I'm developing a cavity.
