Wire ligatures loose.

#1 Post by stellarxoxo »

2 of my wire ligatures are loose and tearing the crap out of my cheeks. I can pretty much pop them off if I wanted to... if they do come off, is this something I should go back to get fixed asap, or could I wait until my appointment next month for my first adjustment (almost 6 weeks being braced). I've tried moving the wire myself to stop from poking, but it's still tearing up my cheek. Thoughts?

If the logs are that loose, they aren't doing their job; go ahead and get it fixed asap. Don't wait until your next spot if it's like a week off.

Go in asap. You are paying your ortho a lot of money and if something is wrong they need to fix it, especially if it's causing pain.
Braces for 18 months/4 days.
