Thank you! Have my aligner now, I was pleasantly surprised because I expected it to be much bigger than it is. Talking isn't great but not too bad at all. I expected worse. I didn't have to have the expander so maybe this is why. No painful at all atm but I didn't think the filing was uncomfortable or painful so maybe I'm just lucky.
I now understand what people mean when they say it's hard to eat with these composite blobs!! Can't bite down but they look fine cos they are clear n u can't even see them! Very happy with it atm :)

Hope everyone's getting on alright xx

Hi Claire. Sorry I never received a notification saying you replied! You are not being picky at all. I definitely wouldn't stop until you are 100% happy. So keep going if you are not. They do look straight though and they are so much better than when you first started out! You must be so pleased. Just go on Friday and see what he says :)

Clear retainers last a couple of years. It's so much more cumfortable than the inman!

Danni the clear aligner he refers to will be the invisalign. It was mentioned to me at the start but I didn't end up needing it. Sometimes at the end of the treatment with the inman u have 1 invisalign tray made to just perfect the end result. Claire, maybe you could ask for that? To perfect your front 2 teeth. Xx

I have written a quick blog on my experiences with the Inman - with lots of pictures. If anybody wants to view it then search for this topic "Inman Aligner from start to finish!"

or this link - http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtop ... +finish%21

Thanks

Hi becky,
Yes the invasalign at the end is what is was! He said if the lab said I need them he would ring me to discuss it before I pick them up. But he didn't and he never mentioned it when I went to pick IA up this morning so guessing I don't need them! :) your blog is great, very useful info and pics. Can't wait until I have teeth like yours!! They look perfect! X

Hi Danni

Aww thanks a lot. People are always looking for pics so I thought I would share mine. I'm so happy with the results. Make sure u wear yours as much as possible. Persevere with it all.

You probably won't know if u need invisalign right until the end. I was suppose to have two blobs of composite on my front teeth half way through which I was worried about. Didn't end up needing it :) xx

Well the pain has kicked in! See what you mean about good pain so you can feel it doing something. Kind of worried it's damaging my teeth as it feels so weird though.
Just wondered is there a right and wrong way to wear it? Not sure I'm putting it in right n the back feels lower than when he did it so its harder to speak. But it just seems to go in one way naturally. Xx

Haha that is a help thank you! I was waiting for it to click in place but it doesn't but yours has worked so I guess it's fine.
Has anyone had pain where the silver brackets are (next to fangs)? I'm sure he didn't file one side, I remember thinking it at the time. And on my booklet it says both sides need filing. It's as though the metal doesn't fit between the teeth and is squeezed in so very achey. Soon as I take the brace out its gone and the other side of my mouth has no feeling at all. So I'm sure it's that there's no room for the metal on my left side! i have pressure 'pain' in the front teeth which is there whether brace is in or not but the pain next to my fang feels so different and is only when brace is in.
Is this normal? Sorry for all the Qs! Xx

Well I actually didn't have any filing at all before I had my brace put in. I had my first filing session at 5 weeks. He seems pretty clued up about where to file and where to add the composite blobs as I went today and he is still unhappy (as I am) that they are not 100% straight and he seems as determined as I am. He is confident that they will get there, he did a bit more filing and added a composite blob behind the tooth that needs moving and I can feel it instantly (i've got the good pain ha). I am back in 2 weeks then hopefully I will be done.
He couldn't apologise enough to me he said I am the only one he has ever had that has gone over the 16 weeks ha! I think this is largely down to the fact that I don't wear it as often as I should. I really do trust everything he says so you are in good hands. If you are really worried send him an email he picks up his emails 24/7 and always replies even evenings/weekends.
You are with Adam at Dentist on the Rock aren't you?

Yeah I'm with Adam :) he does seem very good! I rang him and he said it's probably just pressure from the front teeth moving back. Cos where it feels weird is on the side where all my teeth are crooked and need moving backwards. It's probably me being a nuicanse and paranoid! Ha.
If u didn't have filing first time then u mutant need it to make space for the metal wires so that's good.
Did u mention the clear aligners to give the final push? It's good that he wants u to carry on til your satisfied cos I reckon some dentists would just wanna end treatment as soon as they can once they have ur money. He is obv a good dentist. Did u talk about which retainer u will be getting? Xx

Yes he said there's no way I'll need the clear aligner, he said the composite blob and the filing he did today will definitely do the trick.
I've spoken to him a few times about retainers. He is still against the fixed retainer and 100% recommends the removable but said it was my choice. When I offered to pay extra to get both he said I really didn't need to and one would be enough so that was nice of him too.
i feel like I can see a difference already just in the space of a few hours it's mad! I can always see such a difference after a filing session xx

Yeah I've seen everyone saying that things proper move once u have filing so I was really
Hoping he would file on my first visit and was well glad when he said he would be doing! I think I could see a big difference after one night. I know it sounds like it's impossible but i really do think it's working already. I would hate train tracks where u have to have them for like 6 months before u see any change. So lucky we found these aligners ... And so cheap!! Think I will go with clear then, from what beckys said seems like it will be nothing after months with the IA xx

The clear aligner is great! So much more cumfortable. I could definitely wear it nightly long term no problem :)

You will see changes day to day. I did. Take lots of pics and compare. Honestly I have an album on my phone with like 80 pics in! Haha.
