I was 19 when I had my braces that was about 11 years ago. But now I need to go through braces again because I can't seem to close my mouth and I just realized I think it's because of my teeth is too crowded. :(

A few months before my 38th birthday! I went to a dentist when I was 30 and asked about braces but I was told because I have a deep overbite I would need jaw surgery before I would be offered braces on the nhs. So after researching a lot at 37 years old I plucked up the courage to go private with 6 months smile. My (private) dentist said ideally my jaw would have to be moved slightly to completely correct my overbite but he said he could make my smile appear better cosmetically - fingers crossed!

Just had my extractions done last week.

Got them at 45. I am now 46. I got three extractions, two of them upper jaw bicuspids. I went to my ortho on Thursday and so the before and after profile pictures for the first time. The second set of pictures were taken last month, the first one a year ago. My profile looks completely different. I told him I am not happy, he insisted it was due to natural aging but it was so evident it isn't, that he agreed to give me the money back. Now I am on the look out for an ortho who can partially restore my original profile. My ortho promised to send my records including cast, x-rays to the new one once I find someone with the right skills. Does anyone know an ortho in London who opens up spaces and does functional orthodontics? My gaps are still quite big so I should be all right.

I am getting braces for the second time at 41. Expected treatment time of 18 months. My 12 year old daughter will be getting a full metal set on the same day. Fun!!
