Unhappy with surgery results, help?

Re: Unhappy with surgery results, help?
I would get a second surgery in a heartbeat to fix it, but I'm really concerned with the risk of permanent numbness. Most of my face is still numb from the first surgery so would getting a second surgery increase the chance of feeling never coming back?
Re: Unhappy with surgery results, help?
I know they can pull teeth down, but there is a limit to how much is possible without pulling down and exposing part of the roots. If you have particularly short front teeth you can always get bonding to make them longer so they show when you smile.
A second consult is always an option, but know that if you want surgery again, it probably won't happen for a while. It takes up to a year for swelling to go down and I know my surgeon said NO surgery of any kind to the face until after the 1 year mark (nose, chin, lip, nothing!) because they cant properly evaluate soft tissue and profiles until all the residual swelling has subsided. I would not consider a surgeon if they ARE willing to make corrections during your 1 year healing time. Poor planning for aesthetics is what got you here, you certainly don't want to keep messing things up.
I would guess risk of numbness is about the same with the exception that with every year you age, your risk goes up.

Note that with bonding you still have the problem of teeth looking too long, but I'd think that in future it can at least be filed back to be minimalist (if you don't like the look of it).

Where are you from? What happened when you saw your original surgeon?
Re: Unhappy with surgery results, help?
I have had this happen as well , I'm having a revision to bring it down again using a graft.
Re: Unhappy with surgery results, help?
My first surgery was not planned properly, they set too far back for my upper and lower jaw and impacted with 3.5mm CW rotation fix my long face syndrome,
but i don't have gummy smile to begin with which make me no upper teeth show at all and have a very droopy upper lip looks like 50 years old man.

When is your revision ? Mine wasn't properly planned either , I didn't even see a orthodontist .

Hi,
I really really would like to know if you had the revision and how it turned out? Please let me know if this is still active. Thanks
