Re: Inman aligners
Thank you so much :) each day is getting easier just can't wait for the next appointment to see how it is working. I wonder if you can help I noticed some other comments in the forum have pictures it's saying I don't have permission to see them do you know how I gain permission?. I think pictures would be encouraging esp not dentist pictures and real peoples journeys. Thanks in advance x
Re: Inman aligners
I think you need to post a certain number of times before you can see photos, hang around and you'll see them soon enough
I'm taking photos myself every week, as it really does encourage you! Most recent one (4 weeks difference) is here - http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a126/ ... agd2sq.jpg - My dentist is super excited about my progress so far too which is nice!

Re: Inman aligners
The pictures are amazing. That is motivation for me I would love to be done and dusted for Christmas but my dentist has said 14 weeks mine are a lot worse than yours. How long did they tell you xx
Re: Inman aligners
Mine told me 14 weeks too, though cautiously optimistic that we might knock a bit of time off hehe

Re: Inman aligners
So over a week of having my brace and I don't feel my talking has improved any. I can really see a difference though. Can't wait for my appointment on Wednesday to see what's next. It would be great to hear from ppl who have the IA just now.
Re: Inman aligners
It took me a couple of weeks for speech to improve but it's definitely not back to normal. Do you have an expander in yours? I think that makes a lot of difference in speech because it takes up so much room
Re: Inman aligners
just got mine put in two days ago - at dentist on the rock. Really sore when eating and brushing my teeth, hopefully it improves soon. Good to read about everyone's experiences on here.
Re: Inman aligners
I'm kind of worried i wasn't told to tighten mine and don't see my dentist again for 11 weeks.. Is that normal?
Re: Inman aligners
Do you definitely have the expander? Because you only need to adjust it yourself if you have an added screw in the roof of your mouth. That said, not seeing the dentist for 11 weeks doesn't sound normal at all. I'm going every 2 weeks!
They should be monitoring you regularly so they know if you need any adjustments etc. Do you have any composite buttons on your teeth? I've only had my aligner 6 weeks and dentist has moved the buttons this week to put pressure on different teeth - your dentist should be keeping an eye on you so they can do the same if and when needed?

Re: Inman aligners
i have 3 blobs of composite on them - weird thing is it no longer hurts when i brush my teeth or eat.. feels like it isnt working anymore..
Think the problem was that he is fully booked until mid jan so that when he could fit me in next :(

Re: Inman aligners
Mine didn't hurt much after a couple of weeks, though now she's moved the composite to the front of my teeth it's been quite sore. Don't think lack of pain necessarily means it's not working anymore
Re: Inman aligners
How you getting on m00k? Just wondering, did you have any filing between any teeth before you had your inman fitted? If you're not going back to dentist for 11 weeks will your teeth have enough room to move? (I'm seeing mine again tomorrow and cos I've had work done every single visit I'm starting to wonder more about your dentist not monitoring you )
Re: Inman aligners
haha thanks for your concern! - he did say that i have alot of room for the tetth to move into.. maybe that is why he is not seeing me for so long. All i had done was a bit of filing - need to have fillings done when i next go in Jan..
Do you still feel pain with yours? Thats my main concern, i dont feel anything now and have no idea if thats good or bad

Re: Inman aligners
No I don't have pain with mine a lot of the time so that on itself isn't something to worry about I don't think, but still think 3 months is far too long to go without seeing him (I mentioned your 11 weeks to my dentist tonight and it worried her) - If you've got lots of space that may be it as you say, but things change so quickly with these things, and can be a bit unpredictable.
I went 11 days ago, and she mentioned one of my front teeth had moved down and was longer. Went in today and she'd printed off loads of info about how to fix, I.e push that one back up, pull other one down etc... Took one look at me and went 'oh, it's fixed itself!' I've had work done (filing, moving composites etc) every visit, and today she adjusted the actual aligner. If nothing else maybe it's worth a phone call to ask him to explain what his plan is and why it's OK to wait that long, then it might put your mind at rest a bit.
He's obviously busy but can't believe he can't spare 5 minutes for just a check up once a month, if he's confident nothing will need doing. (Mine has rang me at 8am before just because she's been thinking about my teeth and has changed her mind on something!) When you're paying a lot for this sort of treatment, the appts and attention to detail should be part of that
