Nasal breathing improvement?

Hi! I've heard about this. I personally don't have nasal issues at all BUT my upper palate is so tiny that I might just be used to breathing like this when I could be breathing so much better! I have a REALLY tiny and narrow upper jaw. And I mean so tiny that it forced my two front teeth to be in the shape of a "v" and my incisors to be completely hidden behind my front teeth. It's VERY ugly to me and I hate it. Can't wait to get this SARPE done, ya know?

I've noticed a huge improvement in breathing through my nose. I had upper jaw surgery a month ago (4 piece Le Fort - entire upper jaw was advanced by 1-2mm, my pre-molars and molars were impacted 5mm, and my canines and incisors were brought down 1mm)

I had both upper and lower jaw advancement and clockwise rotation.

Lower jaw advancement increases your airway so it normally improves your breathing.

Sorry I don't know the exact names but I had my upper jaw moved upwards and forward, and my lower jaw moved forward. The difference in breathing is amazing, and it was something I was not even expecting. Good luck in your surgery.

i have an underbite and was told i will need upper jaw movement forward. My breathing is horrible meaning i cant use my nose to breathe. Will this surgery help me or do i nedd sarpe for ideal results. basically my question is what better improves nasal breathing, lefort 1 or sarpe??

I have to agree with this. I also had SARPE for a narrow palate (14mm at the 5s!) with a severe apnea diagnosis. Now I'm also breathing more easily through my nose and have also noticed fewer sinus issues. Working on widening lower jaw now and then will re-test apnea in summer 2017 after healing and alignment are closer to normal to see if I need advancement as well.
