Cool! Yeah this is my second time with braces. The first time i remember my mouth also being narrow at one point but then when i had the bands my mouth looked so good and the overbite wasnt so bad. Im hoping they can helpe me achieve that again before surgery. Feels so far from that point. i mean if my mouth looked that way before it can be that good again right? And my doctor knows that? I get anxiety about it.
He told me im getting my rubber bands at my next visit in january to start correcting the bite. I cant wait!
Do you remember at what point your arch widened? Did you get bands too?
On the end of my treatment, both my arches were widened at the level on the remained premolar and the first molar. My arches had a simple U shape before and now they achieve a rounder horseshoe shape.
Here's a photo of my new occlusion.
i want to show you photos of my teeth now (second round of braces. Two teeth previously extracted. Did not wear retainer) vs before (during my first treatment)
Now:
During last treatment:
You can see that less teeth show now and only two teeth seem closer to the front. While in the second photo more of my teeth came towards the front. My mouth also looked less narrow.

I don't know if it results from the treatment or it is an effect of the lipstick but your lips look fuller now.
The treatment changed completly the shape of my lips, and improved my profile too. Here some photos : http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtop ... =9&t=50906

Your results are great. You chin became more prominent. My lips have been slowly getting fuller treatment which i dont mind. I think ill see a big difference in the bite when i have my bands next month. Yay to the probability of a good bite.

Yes! Always wear your rubber bands as the orthodontist ordered you.

Mine were widened with the wires of the braces only. But both of my arches were retracted before as I suffered from bimax protrusion. Ask about Quad Helix to expand your upper arch.
I had two orthodontic consulttions before starting treatment. I have overcrowding so to make more room for all my teeth one orthodontist recommended extractions. The other orthodontist which I ended up sticking with told me that I already had a narrow smile and if I went through with the extractions my smile would be more narrow and my face would look flat. He recommended a palatal expander to widen my arch and create more space. I notice now that more teeth do show when I smile now. So if you're thinking about widening your smile I'd suggest asking your orthodontist about an expander. I'm 23 so it still works on adults. I think the fixed appliances are more effective but that's just my opinion.
