Herbst Adult

Hello people!
I am Spanish and I do not speak English very well, that is why I am using a language translator.
I am 23 years old, and I have class 2 malocclusion, 6 mm overjet and retroghantic jaw. I never liked my profile nor my lower third, so always carry the jaw forward. This brought me numerous problems, including arthrosis in the atm (flattening of the anterior surface of the condyle, displacement without recapture of both menisci). For my joint pain I consulted a Maxillofacial Surgeon. This doctor asked me the orthognatic surgery of advancement of the jaw. But previously I had to solve my problems atm, so I was referred to an atm specialist dentist. This dentist I pose as an alternative herbst apparatus, which according to I will grow the jaw and take it forward. Opt to start this treatment, but now I am not so sure seeing the results online, functionally achieve their job, but aesthetically not much. I have already spent good money on this herbst treatment that just starts ($ 1400).
What do you think I give a chance to herbst or cancel this plan ????

Tengo 23 años, y tengo maloclusion clase 2, 6 mm overjet and retroghantic jaw. Nunca me gusto mi perfil ni tampoco mi tercio inferior, por eso siempre lleve la mandibula hacia adelante. Esto me trajo numerosos problemas, entre ellos artrosis en la atm (aplanamiento de la superficie anterior del condilo, desplazamiento sin recaptura de ambos meniscos). Por mis dolores articulares consulté a un Cirujano Maxilofacial. Este doctor me planteo la cirugia ortognatica de avance de la mandibula. Pero previamente tenia que solucionar mis problemas de atm, por eso me derivó a un odontologo especialista en atm. Este dentista me planteo como alternativa el aparato de herbst, que segun el me va a hacer crecer la mandibula y llevarla hacia adelante. Opte por iniciar este tratamiento, pero ahora no estoy tan seguro viendo los resultados por internet, funcionalmente logran su trabajo, pero esteticamente no mucho. Ya he gastado un buen dinero en este tratamiento de herbst que recien comienza (1400 dolares) .
Que opinan le doy una oportunidad al herbst o cancelo este plan????
