progress/ linguals

how far along is everyone? i'm about 1 year exactly now, i can't believe how long it takes for the gaps to close. the top teeth should be completely closed in about a month or so, the bottoms are definitely lagging, still a gap of about 4 or 5mm. Yikes, so that's maybe another 4 or 5 months. my estimated time was about 32 months, but i'm praying for a miracle that it won't be more than another year. Actually i can't imagine why i would take more than a year?? once the gaps close that's about it isn't it with a bit of tweaking here and there?

Hi Cat,

have had my uppers for 2.5 months now, and my lowers for just a few days. Getting used to the lowers is really a pain, but thanks god it seems to get better every day

Had two extractions done (upper) and will have one more next week (lower). My upper front teeth were very crooked, and I just cant believe how quickly they aligned after the extractions, I felt like seeing the progress every day in the morning when I looked at the mirror. After barely three months my upper social 6 are already perfect, but I guess now it will take some time before the gaps "in the background" are closed.

Hope everything will go equally smooth with the lowers after the extraction...

I have about 3-4 mm to close with my gaps (linguals for three and a half months) but my front teeth are straight yet. In fact two dont have brackets yet...next appointment apparently so after that time Im just hoping they straighten up and gaps will close.

Do you both like linguals??

Hi

I have had my upper linguals for 3 months. I'm really happy, I almost forget I have braces and nobody notices anything different.

I also had 2 extractions, the gaps are about 4 mm now. Hopefully in 4-5 months should have closed completely. Maybe I'm too optimistic because I will have braces for 21 months in total so I still have another 18 months.

I will also have lower tooth coloured labial brackets in about 2 months. My lower teeth are ok so I don't need the braces for that long.

How are the labial braces compared to the linguals?
