Nervous about IPR anyone had it done?

Nervous about IPR anyone had it done?

I underwent orthodontic treatment a few years ago. However, I am now unhappy with the way one of my teeth feel. My front left tooth sticks out a little further than the front right. It's barely noticeable, but it irritates me immensely because I feel the misalignment a few hours after taking my retainer off in the morning. When I place my retainer on at night I feel the pressure of my retainer pushing the tooth back in. So obviously the tooth is moving, ever so slightly, during the day.

I went to an orthodontist who suggested Invisalign/ClearCorrect to correct the front teeth along with some slight rotations of other teeth to prevent wear. However, my orthodontist also suggested 3mm IPR on the top and bottom to fix "black triangles" that are visible.

What are your guys' experiences with IPR? I'm very nervous about it because I get a lot of compliments on my smile and the size of my teeth. I don't want to end up with chiclet teeth. (Two skinny rectangles).

I've only had a very small amount of IPR (.1 whatever that means), it went smoothly and nothing bad happened, but really I don't notice any difference, but I'm sure there are some around here that had more IPR done.
Lots of crimes here

1. The upper molars bite too far ahead of the lower molars

2. Missing teeth #s 9, 14, and, 29

3. Open bite

4. Upper midline left of center

5. Lower midline right of center

6. Upper and lower teeth not straight

Sentence - 24 months, turned to 27 month.

Braces removed since 11/06/17

I'm 11 weeks in with full metal braces. Had IPR on 2 of my visits to reduce the 'black triangle' slight gaps. My 2 front teeth are triangle shape. No discomfort with having it done and it's minimal. Had it done to quite a few teeth to give slight extra movement. It's not noticeable but my teeth sooon move in to place. My ortho used a very thin (thickness of a hair) file and manually filed the sides of some teeth. Only removing a tiny amount of enamel which can occur naturally over time anyway. It's nothing to be worried about and usually minimal

Thanks for the reassurance guys. I had it done and barely noticed any difference. My black triangles are gone now.
