Is there anyone out there who has full numbness in chin and lips
Would like to know what does full numbness feels like
Re: Is there anyone out there who has full numbness in chin and lips
I'm 2 months post op and my chin is still very numb. If I close my eyes and have someone touch my chin with a q-tip there are only certain spots that have a little sensation. The rest of the chin has absolutely no feeling which means I can't feel foods/drinks that drip down under my lip or on my chin.
There is a very slight tingling that is constantly present, nothing uncomfortable and only noticeable when I think about it. This tingling sensation is not similar to the numbness for fillings at a dentist as there is much less sensation. Also, when I'm laying in bed at night I will occasionally get a sharp pain in parts of my chin that always surprise me. The feeling reminds me of when a doctor hits your knee with the metal tool to test your reflexes.
My only serious obstacle with a numb chin is shaving. I have given up trying to shave my chin and just grew a little goatee.

Stiff. When I smile the skin on my chin feels tight. Hope that makes sense!chin wrote:Does it feel heavy or stiff....

My daughter, who is 12, had numbness in her cheeks when she got braces. The orthodontist said he's never seen or heard of such a case. He also said that those nerves tend to grow back with time. Well. Within a few weeks it was all good.
