Hi, I'm new here.
Here's my recessed mandible:

I also have a gummy smile when genuinely laughing. Or is this the 'vertical maxillary excess'? Or maybe overly active 'elevator' muscles?

I've seen many orthodontists and surgeons and got many conflicting opinions. The 2 most popular were:
A) extract 4 premolars + sliding-genioplasty OR
B) extract only lower 2 premolars + mandible advancement + sliding genioplasty
Which would you pick? Is there any C) option that would be even better?
My thinking is
A) if only nasolabial-angle wouldn't already be acceptable. And I feel like the tongue wouldn't have much space left. Major worry: dished in face, and also not really the optimal solution which might rather be maxillary impaction?
B) if only I hadn't had the gummy-smile as an indicator that something is amiss with maxilla. Pro: only 2 premolars get extracted. Major worry: worse occlusion (it's currently good).
Grateful for any reply I receive. Thanks.
What would you do?
