Just had braces on

#1 Post by Skullzrulerz »

Hello everyone I'm glad to be on here and hoping to meet some new people on here :)
So 17 years of age and closing in on my 18th brithday hence a few months away now when I'm first heard of braces I think that was several years ago or slightly more give or take now the time the dentist said it was barbed wire and very painful which was a huge no no so just last year once I understood what I ment since that my mum told me about braces and explained it probably to me that it wasn't painful and wasn't barbed wire and so on (also autistic so take that into account) I took that literally back then and slightly understand it better then so I went to the dentist and then I think it was liked a checkup then then would see me next year (this year) so around July I had my teeth checked and took pictures off my teeth aren't that bad its like my top set have gaps on them it's nothing major I can't explain it that well it's not like it's all over the place my bottoms (mainly the middle two )ones are fairly better then the top
Ones . And then day zero happened on Wednesday (yesterday) at around 11.15 and it took around 30 mins to do and now only have them on for day and a half first hours I have like a lot of pressure on my teeth and quite uncomfortable took painkillers as well and today the pressure is mostly gone but now feeling quite uncomfortable on my lips and can't eat at all only thing I had was a omelette (mum cut it all up into small pieces) and milkshakes (another story) which is like meal replacements stuff so I so now with the top braces on my lips which is a weird feeling can't really explain it at all it'd just so weird and rough so hopefully it goes soon

You'll get used to them soon. Use wax on any wires or brackets that are cutting up your lips or cheeks. Hang in there. It's going to get better soon!

It may feel like forever but you will get used to them. It took me about a month to eat fairly normally again but some people are fine after 10 days. After the first 3 weeks I didn't really have any pain apart from the odd individual tooth. I had my first adjustment 2 weeks ago, had 1 day of discomfort and since then have had no pain at all which is a relief!

Ah Thank you for that :) now just over a week (9 Days) and that are quite a lot better (Braces on my lips) notced that middle teeth have slowly started to close but still a bit yet :).
Regarding pain lucky i can cope with pain but just worried that it could be too much? but the pain has like suddenly gone in 7-8 day only had one of my right upper tooth (middle) and right chewing teeth(s)
Yet i still need my lower ones on come late October
