Well, your mouth won’t be hanging open, so that will look different, and personally the soft part under my lower jaw kind of hangs down more when I have poor tongue posture so you may see an improvement in that as well, but if you’re talking about whether or not it will change the bone structure of your jaws/face, the answer is no unless you’re still a kid. If you’re a 5th grader, I would encourage you to work on tongue posture and nose breathing as it will in fact affect your bone structure :D Chances are if you’re on this forum, you’re not a 5th grader, so unfortunately the die is cast for you. That’s why some people get orthognathic surgery for cosmetic reasons

I got approved for inpatient dentofacial surgery . But I don't even think my orthodontist talked to the oral surgeon . Aren't the oral surgeon and the orthodontist supposed to work as a team to get case's like this fixed ?

Yes they are. But I think it depends, they may not necessarily need to meet to discuss, case notes in your medical records may sometimes be sufficient, unless they are dealing with a really complex case.

Yes, you’re far from the first patient to go through the orthodontics for some time before ever seeing the maxillofacial surgeon.

That’s a fairly common thing on this board. You’re in good company :)
