Braces Coming Off Soon But Back Molars Not Straight?

#1 Post by embracethebraceface »

So after four long years... I'm supposed to be getting my bottom braces off soon. Each time I was told they're going to come off, it would get postponed later and later. But I have a feeling and was told they're supposed to come off either at my next appointment or the one following. My problem is my back molars are still very crooked and I still have an overbite. About two years ago, I was told these issues would be addressed once all my other teeth are straight. My question is how? Wouldn't putting brackets on my back molars now rearrange the current position of my teeth? Wouldn't that prolong the process of having braces on? I just feel like my overbite and my back molars will never be addressed since they recently said that they're going to come off. What were your experiences? I intend on posting a picture...once I learn how.

I don't have personal experience to share on that but just wanted to say that if you are not happy with how crooked your molars are now, or how your bite is still very off now, getting the braces off isn't going to make them straighter or correct on their own.

I honestly doubt retainers would be able to correct those issues. Perhaps you should make a list of issues that you are still not satisfied about with your smile and discuss with your ortho.
