Starting to lisp 1 yr after surgery

#1 Post by FragrantAardvark »

I've never lisped before but having a bit of trouble with the "s" sounds, like saying "hosts" is kinda iffy. I have to really focus when speaking or I will lisp.

Chin & lower lip still pretty numb, 1 year after lower jaw surgery.

Should I be worried?

I am behind you on my recovery journey but I have also noticed a lisp occasionally. It seems to be when I talk too fast/read aloud.

Are you worried about the lisp or the lack of feeling?

I was the same way as alwaysabc, mostly only doing it when speaking quickly. It got better over time and it's no longer an issue for me now.

Yeah, the fine motor movements in my lips took a while to return to normal.
