OVERBITE

#1 Post by mb »

I have an overbite, linguals in my uppers and will have labial tooth coloured in my lowers in a couple of months until end of treatment (18 months left).

My ortho gave me 2 options for my treatment:

*Orthognatic sugery (jaw surgery) and braces.
*2 teeth extracted and braces.

The first option would correct my overbite, the second would just align my teeth but I would still have an overbite. I decided not to have jaw surgery.

My friend told me the other day that she also had an overbite and small chin (same as me). She said her appearance improved after only wearing braces and never had surgery. Basically her chin and as the result her face changed.

Does anyone know if it is possible to improve an overbite by just having braces, even if it doesn't correct it completelly.

Thanks a lot
