Cost of Braces

#1 Post by Chrissy1066 »

I'm just about to go in for an ortho consult and was wondering what to expect as far as cost for braces? Anybody know about what is the average cost for adult treatment?

There is a very long thread here https://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewt ... d+you+pay that covers most of the world, it seems. Best of luck to you!

Prices vary depending on where you are and probably also what you need done and what type of braces you opt for. I paid $3600 for traditional metal braces, and that is staff price because I got mine done at the hospital that I work at. I'm from Singapore.

Prices vary on where you're located and on what work that may need to be done (pre and/or post orthodontics)..I'm in Australia and I'm paying $7700. The price is for upper clear and lower metal braces and the price also includes all orthodontic treatments (visits, orthodontic appliances used, bracket replacements, retainers etc etc), as well as review appointments 2 years post active treatment. The price is not inclusive of general dental work or other specialist dental work

Hope that helps :)

My quote is just over $8,000 for braces. (I’m hoping the jaw surgery I also need will be covered by health insurance.)

My cost is $4500, which my ortho said is a little less than his normal fee. My case is fairly mild with a little crowding and an overbite. Estimated time 18 months.

$4800 and it is surgically compromised braces. I went to a couple of consultations. The cheapest was $3500, but the place wasn’t aesthetically appealing to put it nicely. The most expensive was $7000. I loved that place, but they were pushing jaw surgery on an insurance plan I didn’t have.

They are metal braces. The price includes x-rays, retainers, and 2-2 1/2 years of appointment. It does not include extractions.
