First-time Braces, 30

#1 Post by braceace »

Hello all! I'm Mila, and I just got braces for the first time last thursday. They've been in the works since March, though. I'm 30, literally turning 31 in t-minus 6 hours, haha.

So far I'm miserable, but hoping it will get better soon. Right now I just have top braces because my top front teeth come too far over my bottom teeth. My first adjustment is in December :)

My case has been deemed a "very unique and complicated situation" nearly verbatim by at least 6 dental professionals. I will go into more detail in a different post, but right now I just wanted to introduce myself! I look forward to talking with you all

Hi! Nice to meet you, and happy birthday!

This is my first time in braces as well, and I am around the same age as you. I hope you are adjusting well!

Enjoy your birthday.

As more or less ever body from us having braces the first days are difficult. But you will get used to. Mostly. Good luck and keep us updated.

Welcome!

It´s my second time in braces. I had those things in when i was a kid, but after they took off my retainer (after 5 years) have my teeths slowly going back to what they was.
I'm also in your age (+2 years)

It will be so exciting to follow everybodys journey. :D

Thank you! I find it so bonkers that we work so hard to fix our teeth, and the teeth just want to go back to how they were

Good luck on y our second time around! My braces story is in my signature, if you wanna check it out :D

How has it been going? I'm 28 and due to get them in January, and I'm quite nervous. Mostly about telling people/people seeing them the first time as an adult.

So far, it's been going well! Despite the pain involved, I think I'm rocking braces fairly well, haha -- they make me look a little younger, which I'm 100% on board with  . Typically, people don't mention them when they talk to me, so I don't know if they don't notice, don't care, or are just being polite. For people who ask, I just tell them that my mouth is a garbage hole, and I got them for functional/health reasons and not aesthetic reasons. And for most people who notice them and say something, they say I look pretty cute in them :D !

I hope getting yours on goes well!
