I'm 50 this is my 3rd day with braces and bite turbos, and I never dreamed it would be so tough.

I got my braces this year in February at the age of 24 and I probably have to wear them for a year.

At 42, for the first time. I never had lateral incisors, so my smile was gappy. I am 6 months into the treatment. My front teeth are together without a great big gap for the first time in my life! But... next to them are massive gaps where I will have implants ( hopefully) to replace my missing teeth. Predicted time- 2 years in metal braces top and bottom with elastics ( those are so annoying and ugly looking!), then bone graf, then implants. Its hard at 42, I wish I was brave enough sooner! But then again, I'm grateful that I can have them now.

Got mine at 42, first time after being scared my whole life before. Full metal mouth top and bottom. Currently 6 month in.

Hi all!

I’m in my early forties and getting braces next week. I’m looking forward to getting the gaps in my teeth closed. Are there any must have supplies I should get before I go to the ortho? I got the basics (electric toothbrush, Orthdots, inter dental brushes, etc).

Usually orthos give you a sample pack of various cleaning supplies when the braces go on. Try them out of see what you like. In addition to that some people like a water pick an electric toothbrush. I got my braces at 37.

Hi everybody, I got my braces, metal upper and lower, red/yellow/green ligatures and a bite plate, one day before my 63rd birthday! Braces for my birthday- woo-hoo!

At the age of 50 due to Tmj. Was a long drawn out trip. Look for my old post as headgearjoe also

Had mine from age 12-15. Of course…we didn’t realize at the time, but I had some growing left to do, so considering another round at 32!
