UPDATE 8th tray 24 weeks into Invisalign
Everything is all good. Switched trays to # 8 on Sunday. Hurt like hell on Sunday - Wednesday. Today is Thursday and have a small ache. Have blisters from new tray, just using a lot of wax. Teeth on top have really changed a lot and my smile is different already. Bottom tray doesnt seem to fit well, but its probably when I got sick, I didnt wear them often and also over the holidays I had them out more than usual because I was eating like crazy!!! Yummy! Who said you lose weight with Invisalign ~~ I gained 4 pounds since Thanksgiving!!!! Damn! But hey, at least I can smile about it!!!

I have to say the bottom tray you mentioned not fitting well is a pretty big concern. I don't think we invisalign users have as much liberty (time wise) with taking your trays in and out as we seem to think. Teeth move, and quickly. You notice the pressure you feel replacing them after 45 minutes (dinner) of having them removed. This is because they are already moving. Keeping the trays out for a few hours here and a few hours there in my mind is really not a good idea. The trays are designed to guide your teeth into position. However, your teeth need to be ready for the next tray otherwise it won't fit quite exactly. Now the next tray is trying to guide your teeth but if the teeth are not in the predermined position (exactly) it will not work right. It only leads to getting worse and worse. Maybe the docs could provide a little insight on this but I cannot say this enough....THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN MAKING AN INVISALIGN TREATMENT SUCCESSFUL IS KEEPING YOUR TRAYS IN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. DON'T "TREAT" YOURSELF TO A NIGHT OFF TO SAY GO OUT ON THE TOWN OR WHATEVER FOR THAT MATTER. IT MAKES NO SENSE AND ALL YOU ARE DOING IS HURTING YOURSELF. PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR ORTHOS AND AVOID THE IT'S MY MOUTH I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING ATTITUDE.
I am very sorry for the caps but what a great way to get an important point accross in a post. Nvrsaynvr, I just want to make sure you know this is in no way an attack on you just an excellent time to state my opinion.

Thank you for your thoughts. I took it, in no way at an attack. I only heard concern.
I want to mention that my bottom tray fits like it should now.
I went to my ortho yesterday, I mentioned what I felt about my bottom tray and he said its because its working on my very stubborn tooth and now my molars. He said it felt akward because my other seven trays didnt work on this particular tooth, nor my molars.
Again, its now 5 days into my 8th tray and my tray fits perfect.
I want to mention also, I did go 24 hours a few weeks w/out my trays because I had the stomach flu and I kept vomiting, so I had to go w/o my trays. (see my other post, I almost died from choking on my trays)
Also, I mentioned I took them out for one evening for a party to eat. That was a total of about 4 hours. I asked Invisalign direct about the 4 hours, and they said that people take them out all day for their weddings, etc.
Trust me... when I dont have my trays in, its like not having my children with me. I have my trays in about 20-22 hours a day. I feel lost with out them.
Thank you for advice!!

im no maths genius but 8 x 3 = 24 so im guessing you have your trays in for 3 weeks im supposed to have mine in for 2 but for my 2nd tray will be in for 3 because my orth was sick just before christmas when i was due for my last extractions and my 3rd set of trays, my tray feels slack after 1 week is the 2nd week just some sort of bone healing time?
i have 46 trays on top and i heard some one in here say they wear the trays for 10 days to finisher sooner im guessing that no ortho would recomend any less than 2 weeks?
