Poll: How much does your treatment cost?
I realize that costs are going to vary depending upon location, length of treatment, etc, but I was curious as to what people are spending. Here's my breakdown:
Intial consult: $10
X-rays, molds: $300
Treatment (spacers, braces, & first set of retainers): $4500
Clear brackets on top: $300
TOTAL: $5,110

Total orthodontic treatment is $4995. $1200 was required within 3 months, then $155 per month interest free.
Additional dental work will be needed. I'll probably have two teeth crowned (one for sure) when the braces come off. Plus some tooth shaving (probably before the braces come off) which I'm not sure if I'll be charged extra for. I think all my extractions (7) cost around $500.
By the time I get my teeth how I want them, I'm sure the grand total will probably be in the neighborhood of $7000.

My initial consult was free. Everything else was $4100 and I paid for it all up front (and actually got a small discount...so I think I paid just less than $4000.) I'll be in braces for 24-30 months, clear on top and silver on bottom. My extractions were an additional $360.
Indy--this will actually mean something to you! I live in Bloomington and checked out prices here, but I actually went with someone in Bedford. It's only a half hour drive and he was hundreds-thousands (no kidding) cheaper than the B-town folks. I'm sure the orthos here are great, but I was just really happy with the guy in Bedford.

Total for 3 years - $6,900.00. $1,860 down, $168.00 a month interest free.
No charge for consult, x-rays or ceramic uppers- metal or ceramics same price. Surgical exposure of impacted canines about $1,500.00, may be covered under insurance. If I didn't go for trying to bring down the canines, then it would have been $6,200.00. Funny how your location changes the cost of treatment, that was something I'd never even thought about.
