Bride in Braces

#1 Post by privatepilot »

I just got engaged and have 2 more years to go on my ortho treatment. I am going to wait it out and have the braces off (and paid for) before I walk down the aisle. BTW I am 43. My ortho said I could have the wires removed for the wedding, but I really want them done and off before the wedding. Anyone else been through this?
It's all about ME!

Braces went on 8/25/05. Div II whatever that means!!

I wasn't in braces for my wedding, but I know you can have the photographer touch up the photos to get rid of the braces. So if you don't make it by your wedding, that's always an option.

if you weren't planning on being married immediately (like the next 6 months) and you wouldnt be delaying that long, it wouldnt be so bad to wait. if it's a major cramp in your plans otherwise, i say get married with the braces and have the photographer touch up your pics. congrats!

my ortho said I could get a photographer touch up the photos...
I'm so excited to get married I might just do it with braces,

My husband and I are having a big ceremony for our friends and family, and I'll be doing it in braces. Hopefully I'll be nearing the end of my treatment at that point (if we do it in summer '07 I'll have about seven more months to go, oy), so my teeth will at least be straight. I figure if we have a photographer, then maybe we can pay to get phtos touched up.

I'm in a similar situation. I got my braces in September last year and get married in December 2007. However, we're not booking it until we can be sure that my braces will be off in time. I know some people don't mind but I've spent my whole life hating my teeth and jaw (I'm having jaw surgery too) so I definitely don't want to be reminded of this every time I look at my wedding photos.

My girlfriend has told me that we're not getting married until she gets her braces off. She said that engagements however are more than welcome until then. :P

married

I got married a few months after my braces were on. My ortho asked me if I wanted them off for the pictures and he could put them back on. I told him I would think about it. I am glad I had that time because I decided that just like the wedding was a big event in my life, so was my decision to get braces. I smiled for the camera and loved it. I really love my pictures because I had such a good time smiling, knowing that my smile was changing and different than it was a few months before.
THAT was my opinion. I know that some people may have a different opinion than me, but I just thought I would share it. Hope it helps! :D
