I'm not sure if womone already said this, but here it goes... Most Orthos won't put anything other then metal on your bottoms regardless. because they are stronger and your bottom teeth take more of a beating they would break off if they were anything else. I too have metal on the bottom but I have clear on top, and you really don't see the bottoms anyway. And its is true after a while you o't eben see your braces anymore.. I've had mine on for 8 months now and even my husband says he forgets I have them:) Good Luck

Hi Tandi, I'd go with ceramic top braces (usually the ortho does the top 6 or 8 in clear ceramic (mine did 8) and they are not noticeable) When I came home from the ortho the day I got them, I started talking to my husband and kids and they didn't even notice!!!! *I had kept the date of being braced a secret, lol*

Regrets?

#34 Post by Londonliz »

I had my Damon D3s put on on 9th January, top and bottom, and like you, I went for the metal, for all the reasons you said - quicker, less expensive, etc.

I found the first two weeks a shocker - very painful (and bizarrely with a hangover, it was much worse on my cheeks), but now, I can honestly say I don't feel them, and they are moving so quickly! I also had about 2 days of regretting it and thinking it was the worst thing I had ever paid a fortune to do. It passed (think I was quite tired and run down at the time) and am overwhelmingly delighted that I decided to go through with this. Stick with it, and think how short a year is in the grand scheme of your life - and how wonderful your teeth will be!
Metal Damon D3s on top and bottom, on 10th January 2006. Estimated treatment time 12 to 14 months.
