now i am depressed!
Okay...so I got a debanding date yay! But I have a problem. I have a new gap. How could this happen? It seems that everytime i get new rubber bands...a new gap opens. But i also have a power chain. So if i have a gap will the power chain close it in time? Heres a pic...(it's the same tooth that's been having trouble my whole treatment) URGH! I am outraged! So...should i stop wearing my elastics (because everytime i do get a new arrangement...it seems to open the gap....or call the ortho? What sucks is that my gap was closed before i went to the ortho and now it is open. Any other suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Ok, you win...but thats BEFORE treatment...no fair!wearetheborg wrote:
I've gotten this gap after 1 1/2 years in braces! That tooth was originally tucked behind my front tooth and now that its out in the open its totally gap city on both sides. I suppose it will close some during the power chain phase, but more than likely I've have some gap left.

to Chris,
my upper laterals were on both sides also behind my centrals. It took
some time to get them in line, resulting in the same gaps you have. It
only got better after my (first) ortho did some IPR (file some off) on those
laterals. Then a powerchain can get everything much tighter. I am sure
that when your ortho does take off a tiny bit of the area of your lateral
that touches your central, it will work better to close the space more. You
may even get some gum regrowth which will even more close the gap ...
