Ok. I got them. My toungue has already started bleeding a little.
it has been a very weird experience. When she first put the bands in, Ithought I was going to cry. The lip stretcher was very strange also. I have to go back to work tomorrow. I am worried about that.
I got them to today...not too much pain...yet anyway. Posted my story with pics in Braces Story under Karin's Story. How long is your treatment? Mine is 15-18 months. Well, welcome and enjoy the ride!
Congratulations on getting braces to both of you. The first 2-3 days are the worse but things will get better. You should be able to talk by tomorrow...a little wierd in the beginning as your mouth startes adjusting too all these new things in your mouth, but you will be fine.
Remeber to rinse with salk water and use wax when a bracket/wire is rubbing you

Metal bottom braces: May 1st, 2006
Congrats to both. I remember my first days (1 year ago)Eating was tough at first, it seemed like I was eating with rocks in my mouth. I have gotten so used to these, I forget I have them sometimes!
Congratulations on taking the plunge! It's going to get easier and better very fast. I only got the braces on about 2 months ago. Now it just seems quite normal to have them in my mouth. And I got used to them within days.
