Is it possible for a perfect smile from this.........

I'm getting braces in less than a week but even though my orthadontist has said I will have a 'normal' smile, I've got something in the back of my mind which tells me it wont be possible to close the gaps totally?

You will be amazed at what braces can do. Right now it seems as if it is a dream but once they are on and those teeth start moving you will seen some great changes.

It is possible yes, braces can be a very productive and highly effective self correcting procedure, and the before and after cases are proof of this. Get pass the difficult first few weeks, and I would be very surprised if you don't come to the conclusion that it's probably one of the best things you have ever done for yourself. :) Good luck.

Of course your teeth can be improved alot, and because you have those big gaps it'll be easy to see progress although flossing may have to be worked into your cleaning routine when they get smaller.

Many people have extractions for the braces, think yourself lucky your not having those.

countyblue, although the gap between my two front teeth wasn't as wide as yours, it has completely closed after 7 months of braces.

I have the same situation as you. Lots of gaps everywhere. My ortho says I'll need double retainers when this is all done. Permanent one across my front teeth and the regular removeable ones. Cuz he thinks my teeth will do some shifting. Doesn't help that my teeth are small too.

Good luck.

Do a search in the braces stories section. There is guy around here who finished treatment quite some time ago. His gaps transformed into a new, amazingly natural looking und beautiful smile. You won't believe it is the same teeth. I don`t remember the name but his story is awesome. I think you will have a great result because your teeth are shaped nicely.

Countryblue, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at what an orthodontist, a few brackets and some powerchains can accomplish!

Good luck, and I really can't wait to see more photos over the coming months! :D

You will be totally shocked, but they can absolutely close those up!! My sister had gaps alot like yours, and hers are almost closed completely! There are still a few on the sides, but still. Shes only had them on not even 2 years yet. :)
