why was it necessary to get braces afterwards? where did invisalign go wrong? what i mean is: you see the clinicheck and what your teeth are supposed to be like tray by tray so when you/the ortho notice that things AREN'T going that way why don't you/they take steps to fix it (i.e. remolding for new trays or whatever). how do you end up with a bad end product?
I think it would also be interesting to note how many trays you people had. Maybe there's a correlation between the number of trays and the need for traditional braces after treatment.

Sue Invisalign
I'm so upset. I want to sue align technology for misrepresenting their product. Anyone for a class action suit.

I think the number of aligners probably does offer a hint at if traditional braces will be needed in the end. I know that with each of my revisions, the first dozen or so trays were fine but after 16 trays things would go astray.
Just for the record I had 51 upper trays to begin with and when I got a revision on tray 21(ish) I ended up with 30 something more. I definetly think that there was no way my case could be done with invisalign but the ortho told me it could and he was a top invisalign provider so I believed him. In the end I'll have a great teeth, it was just a long road to get there.

2.6 years (30 months) with Invisalign plus 19 months 2 weeks with metal braces to achieve the perfect smile.
invisagirl mine is a high number case too im on number 12 now im happy with most things except (i was warned this could happen) 2 of of my molars are tipping more than they should the trays still fit but you can see fresh air i told my ortho about this but she says things are fine im not sure if invisilign can tip the tooth back to its vertical position id hate to go to braces if my teeth look fine but my bite is no good.
diehard - if in a few weeks things still don't feel right, ask your orthodontist the "hard questions" and expect answers. While I generally believe that the docs know best, and their professional judgement should not be second guessed at every turn, orthodontists have lttle control over invisalign. Going forward with trays that don't fit well will not fix the problem - trust me I have been there.
Good luck - I hope it works out for you.
