If I were in your shoes I would try Damons, you might get a better result, even with extractions. Just my two cents.

Damon braces won't give you any better of a result than any other bracket system. Dr. Damon just happens to be a better salesman than other orthodontic salesmen. You would see the best results with surgery. I know you probably don't want to hear it, but if significant changes to your maxillary excess (gummy smile) and a forward positioning of your chin is something you desire to have, then surgery is the only treatment that can give you those results.

If you don't go with surgery, two upper premolar extraction treatment will be a compromise as your lower incisors (front teeth) will be leaning pretty far forward. In fact, your occlusion might not be able to come together properly without some slenderizing of your lower front teeth or possibly the removal of one of your lower front teeth. I'd need to see all of your records to determine this of course, but from what I can see, this is likely the situation.

Good luck

Thanks for your respose. I have actullay opted for surgery. my gummy smile does not bother me so much, but my recessed lower jaw make me look ugly from, side.I have seen about 9 orthos and all of them suggest different things as far as extraction of teeeth prior to surgery. My OS suggested that i hsould have my lower 1st bicuspids extracted to prepare me for the lower jaw surgery and genio. What do you think. I do have a ceph xray with me. If you would like I canemail it toyo. Just pm me your email address.

Is that really necessary? She should be commended for doing something about teeth that she is uncomfortable with, not ridiculed. Rather than simply complaining about her problems but doing nothing to fix it like many people do, she is actually trying to do something about it. There is no reason to put her down.
