I eat at restaurants a lot. I always try to chew my food on one side and at the very back.

There's also the "braces swish" as I call it. Drink some water and try to be sneaky about swishing it through your braces to loosen the food. I also talk with my hand over my mouth or try to talk without my teeth showing until I can run to the bathroom and check.

I think most of my friends are used seeing stuff hang out of my teeth at dinner though :P I'm comfortable enough to pull out a small mirror from my purse at the table, or do the charming "HEY IS THERE ANYTHING IN MY TEETH? :BigTeethGrin: " Maybe that's not acceptable in certain social situations though ;D
