Dani...Thanks for the kind words and best of luck to you with the surgery. Everything is going to turn out great. Remember, one day at a time!Dani73 wrote:Chiago you look absolutely fantastic.
Thank you so much for putting your pictures up. I'm having my surgery in about 36 hours and really starting to get anxious about it. I've been in the braces now for 2 years and it's been a LONG process.

What a wonderful transformation, Chicago! Congratulations on overcoming the fears of the past and taking control--that takes real strength, and moreso when the treatment involves more than one surgery and a mouthful of orthodontic devices.
I certainly hope you are still contributing to the forum when I have surgery "sometime next spring".
Again, congrats on an amazing outcome!

You want to know the weird thing? Nothing ever "hurt". I surely couldn't chew correctly, but the compromises I had to make were just ingrained in my head. It goes to show you how the body will compromise...ColoradoGirl wrote:Wow! I'll admit it, I've been feeling a bit sorry for myself b/c of my messed-up bite: yours must've really hurt! I think your face looked good before, but your after pics are amazing--what a profile!
I think one of the tough things for me now is what it feel like to chew "correctly". It's just a totally new feeling for me. My bite is not final by any stretch, and I'm just getting back to chewing, but I know its closer to correct now as it was pre-surgery.
